Two
This weekend my little guy turned two - I still can't believe he is that old already! It was a bittersweet weekend though. On Tuesday Scott's grandpa passed away. It wasn't unexpected since his health has really been going downhill, but still very sad. Especially considering it's his mom's dad and nobody has told her because we don't know how she will respond to the news.
Saturday was the funeral which was also Nicholas birthday. He had a great time playing with his cousins while we were at the funeral. At night we were planning on taking him to Chuck E Cheese, but it was an hour wait just to get in the door. We decided to go to Red Robin. I first was a little bit sad because I didn't think it would be nearly as much fun for him, but when they came out singing to him he had the biggest smile on his face and all he could say was 'oh WOW'. The ice cream sundae helped a little too I think :)
Nicholas digging in to his cake...
Blowing out the candle...
Uncle Johnny showing him how to use the new digital camera we got him. He loves it too - I wonder where he gets that from...
So I thought the weekend turned out OK until yesterday when he woke up from his nap screaming, coughing and with a fever. He was coughing so much that he puked all over Scott (which actually saved me another load of laundry since it didn't get on our bed) :) This cold/flu has been going around 'the hill' so it was only a matter of time before he got it too. At least he saved it till after his birthday!

It was a joy to be able to spend part of Nicholas' birthday with him. Too bad Chuck E. Cheese was so busy, but it ended up to be a great night. The expression on his face when all the wait staff at Red Robin were singing to him was priceless!
Hope he's feeling better! Hugs from G & G in Orlando! We miss you already!
i am so sorry we missed it Sat. nite. I would have loved to see his excitement. But it was best that we try to keep the germs at home, except that didn't really work out so well, did it? So SO SO sorry Nicholas got sick, I hope he feels better soon.
HAPPY 2nd BIRTHDAY NICHOLAS!! Love, Auntie Larvi (will he really call me that??)
