Stitches Revealed
We got to take the gauze off tonight. We showed Nicholas in the mirror and he looked a bit worried about it. I don't know if you can really tell in the picture (you can click on it to make it a little bigger), but the stitches look really long. Is this normal? I would have thought they would have trimmed them a bit shorter before we left. Well hopefully he won't pull on them!

They do look a bit long....are they dissolvable or do you have to have them taken out--if so, it's easier if they have longer tails. Or maybe it's because he was not having a good time and most likely moving a bit, so they had to be quick. It's a nice look anyway....tough. He is a boy after all. :)
They do have to be taken out - I guess thats probably why then.
They look a bit spider-like to me. I'm sure you could trim them up a bit . . .
I was going to say it looks like spiders are trying to get out! Oh poor Nicholas!! Give him a hug from us and tell him the chocolate straws are in the mail!!
Awww too sad Katie... but I have to say, I flippin' love that shot... what personality, what an expression... love him.
I remember my nephew getting a garden gate slammed into the middle of his forehead during some overly boisterous playing... his stitches were really long too so I wouldn't worry about it too much.
Oh Nicholas! My boys said they are proud that he will have scar on his head and then they proceeded to show me all their scars-- this may not be the last one for Nicholas.
the residual scar will soon be a part of him, making him even more special-- kinda like Joy's chipped teeth??
Glad he is such a trooper!
Ouch! Good thing he's a boy, huh? He still has that adorable grin though!! Love ya! Auntie Larvi
